WAIVER OF SUCCESSION: please have the reflex Bailiff

bailiff waiver of inheritanceYou inherited, but you don't want to accept the inheritance?

Whatever your reasons for this renunciation of inheritance (refusal to bear the debts, or refusal of the estate to go directly to your own children for example), you should know that bailiffs can be very useful to you.

In fact, in addition to the steps to be taken when renouncing a succession, which we recall here quickly:

  • Go to the Tribunal de Grande Instance of the deceased's place of residence or send them a CERFA form number 14037 which you can download here duly completed
  • Attach death notice, birth certificate (full copy) and proof of identity.

It is very important to have a complete inventory made of the deceased's personal property, so that you cannot be suspected of having fraudulently removed any property from the estate before renouncing it.

This inventory is carried out by a bailiff and you can very easily make an appointment online (and get a quote) on the site mes-constats.com. It is an extremely useful precaution which makes it possible to bring the absolute proof that on such a date such pieces of furniture were present and such pieces of furniture were not.
